“Healing From The Storm” public mosaic installation in New Orleans, LA
In a few short weeks, we will be traveling to New Orleans to install a public mosaic piece entitled “Healing From The Storm”. The mosaic was created by children in Atlanta, GA, Asheville, NC and finally, New Orleans, LA. It is in collaboration with ‘Alive, Art Otherwise Absent’. The children of the 3 cities are creating the mosaic piece from the inception, of drawing their depictions of New Orleans and what happened during/after hurricane Katrina, all the way to creating finished 9″x9″ tiles to all be assembled together with their peers of the other two cities.
It is a beautiful “coming together” (Mosaic) of children who care about others and want to bring something that “looks nice” to a neighborhood affected by the hurricane on the morning of August 29, 2005.
We have an intention with this project of bringing hope and beauty to a community who is still trying to repair from the storm.
10 of us from multiple Eastern, US cities traveling together to New Orleans for a week of hurricane relief as well as installation of the mural.
If you would like to support this project in any way, please contact us via email or telephone: 404.849.9994. Specifically, we are looking for financial assistance for our meals while in NOLA and to purchase supplies for installation of the mural.
Thanks, friends!

We hereby announce, "Art & Pinta say, "Let's Create!"
Drawchange has created a children's magazine! How else could we get art to as many of the world's children as possible? :)
“Let's Create!" is an inspirational and uplifting magazine filled with children’s articles, empowering art projects and creative fun. The magazine will enable drawchange to surpass the boundaries of the locations we can physically visit-thus reaching countless more children.
Right now we are only assisting the children we personally visit. A magazine will allow us to grant an empowering moment of creativity to every child that picks up the magazine-whether we are present or not. How exciting!
Our first issue's theme is "I Am Creative". Closely followed up by "Nature Is Beautiful" and "We Are All Beautiful". Here's a sneak preview of the "I Am Creative" cover!
Cover Illustration produced by Latasha Moore.
